8 February 2017 HealthWISE Accredited Practising Dietitians encourage the community to participate in Healthy Weight Week

Australia’s Healthy Weight Week is next week February 13 -19. HealthWISE New England North West offices across the region are participating and also encouraging the local and business communities to do the same. Australia’s Healthy Weight Week is an initiative of the Dietitians Association of Australia, raising awareness of the importance of achieving and maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. Events are held in February each year to help promote this message and encourage people to see an Accredited Practising Dietitian to assist with food, nutrition and lifestyle management. http://healthyweightweek.com.au/ HealthWISE is encouraging local business and communities to hold a morning tea or lunch in your workplace or home during Healthy Weight Week. Ideas for healthy contributions include fresh fruit, wholegrain crackers, rice cakes, corn thins with avocado or cottage/ricotta cheese & tomato, natural popcorn, nuts, vegetable sticks with hummus or tzatziki and healthy muffins. HealthWISE staff are encouraged to fill out daily meal plans over the week provided by the Dietitians Association of Australia and have these reviewed by a HealthWISE Accredited Practising Dietitian. HealthWISE Dietitian services are FREE to eligible clients, via referral from your GP. Alternatively you can contact HealthWISE directly to book a walk in appointment, no referral required. Our HealthWISE dietitians service Tamworth, Walcha, Barraba, Armidale, Glen Innes, Moree, Warialda, Bingara and Narrabri.
