New course to help parents prep for primary school

“A parent is a child’s first and most important teacher,” says HealthWISE speech pathologist Anne Williams. Passionate about early education and communication, Anne can’t wait to share her expertise with locals with the launch of a new school readiness course for parents, available now at www.soundsgoodtome.com.au.

“Many children start school without the skills they need to learn to read and write in kindergarten. By working with children in their early years, we’re not only getting them ready for school, we’re influencing their ability to be healthy adults,” she said.

A spin-off from the popular early educators’ program of the same name, Sounds good to me for parents helps caregivers ensure their children are ready for big school. It covers all aspects of early literacy a child needs before starting school.

“The Sounds good to me parent program is such a fantastic, cost-effective program that has really helped me to support my children with their speech,” said local mother Sandie Davis, who worked through the course with her 5-year-old son Jed.

“I would recommend it to any of my friends with young children.”

Presented by Anne in a series engaging videos, the hour-long course includes a wide range of downloadable games and activities designed to build skills essential for formal school learning. These are demonstrated in the videos with real preschool-aged children.

“I think these lessons are incredible!” said Moree mother of three, Gemma Booker.
“Anne is so comforting to watch, and the course is very explanatory with such great information jam-packed in short videos. It is full of easy guides and simple fun games that my kids enjoy.”

Created by speech pathologists and based on the latest evidence on school readiness, Sounds good to me is endorsed by early educators. Parents can sign up to the course for just $22. This will give them a full month of access to the 8 lessons, along with a large library of digital resources in the online training portal. An ongoing subscription is $5.50 a month (cancel at anytime).
